Estabrook Residences and Anderson Square
Opened in 2008, this newly renovated mill building is in the heart of Nashua, New Hampshire. This property is an age restricted
community conveniently located along Nashua's rail trail and a short walk to downtown, shopping and restaurants. A three-story high, 10,000 square foot covered
atrium flooded with natural light from skylights, allows residents the opportunity to enjoy a place to relax and mingle regardless of what the New England weather is
outdoors. An onsite restaurant allows for a separate resident dining area and will offer affordable meals for breakfast lunch and dinner.
In 1886 the Moody, Estabrook & Anderson Shoe Company built a factory that would manufacture 2,000,000 shoes annually, the most productive
under one roof in the country at that time. It was the most technologically advanced building of its time in terms of fireproofing. The main walls of the first floor
are 20 inches thick and the upper floors are 15 inches thick. More than 500,000 bricks were used to construct the original building. The building has over 600 windows
which are 7 feet x 4.5 feet, 12 over 12 double-hung treatments. The entire factory building has a pronounced overhang eave, with extended ornately carved roof beams.
Both the exterior and interior of the massive Moody, Eastbrook & Anderson Shoe Company factory survive today virtually unaltered. The
building's relationship to the surrounding urban neighborhood and adjacent railroad track (toady a rail-to-trail public amenity) which once served the factory is
intact. The renovation of the building is being undertaken with guidance from the National Park Service Historic Preservation officials. The establishment of this
massive shoe factory resulted in the formation of one of Nashua's and New Hampshire's most culturally rich and diverse neighborhoods. The location in a
residential neighborhood, a short walk from Main Street, makes this a one-of-a-kind residential community within a historically significant mill building.
In 1997, with a booming economy and low-crime rate, Nashua was at the top of Money Magazine's annual ranking of best places to live in the United
States and is the only city in the country ever to win this honor twice. Boston is one hour to the south, the White Mountains
and Lakes Region are 90 minutes north and the Seacoast is 90 minutes east. A bus stop which can take you to Nashua's numerous shopping malls is located steps from our main entrance.
This property is staffed with 24-hour maintenance personnel. Ample onsite parking is available.
Large oversized windows flood each unit with natural light. Eighty-percent of the units are age restricted. The property offers rentals of 5 studios, 112 one-
bedroom units, 16 two-bedroom units and 7 one-bedroom handicap accessible units ranging in price from $650 to $1250 per month.
